Ellen Dilling Jones

She was born on July 6, 1953 in Charlotte, NC to the late Billy Alvin Dilling and Mary Catherine Dilling.

Ellen graduated from Belmont High School and American Academy of Hairstyling. She was previously employed for 17 years at Sanger Clinic Charlotte. She had been retired for the past 20+ years and enjoyed the time she spent with her family and close friends. Ellen was loving, strong and if she loved you then she loved you with her whole heart. She always tried to see the good in everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her sister, Lori Dilling Rhyne.

She is survived by her son, Chris Carswell and wife Diana; daughter, Jennifer Phillips and husband Mike; granddaughter, Kayla Flowers and husband Payton; grandsons, Grayson Phillips and wife Madi, Brayden Carswell and Bryan Villamar; great grandchildren, Colton, Millie and Ezra; brother, Terry Dilling; sister, Kathy Bullock and husband Donny; nieces, Pam Longson and husband Billy and Amanda Rhyne; nephews, Charles Bullock and wife Renee, Doug Dilling, and Mark Dilling and wife Krista; and multiple great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park with the Celebration of Life Service beginning at 3:00 pm. A private committal service, with family only, will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
