

GASTONIA – Eula Mae Kate Mason Coleman, 88, of Gastonia, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Robin Johnson House. She was born in Cherokee County, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Burt and Jessie Crowder Mason.
Mrs. Coleman retired from Threads, Inc. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and attended Charity Baptist Church.
Mrs. Coleman is survived by two sons, James Paul Coleman and wife Barbara of Gastonia, Steve Hoyt Coleman and wife Brenda of Dallas; one sister, Ruth Walker of Bessemer City; three grandchildren, Scott Coleman, Billy Coleman and wife Renae of Gastonia, Michael Coleman of Dallas; great grandchildren, Brandy Coleman, Daniel Coleman of Gastonia, Cody Coleman of Dallas, Trey Coleman, Katy Johnson; great-great granddaughter, Lilly Anna Grace Johnson; and great-great granddaughter on the way, Bella Coleman.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday in The Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Austin officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 58 years, James Hoyt Coleman; two infant sons; one sister, Opal Craig; two brothers, Otis “Red” Mason, Donald Void Mason.
