Tuesday March 15, 2022, surrounded by her family. Gay had great wisdom and could always
use that knowledge to calm others. She always had a smile! She loved her family, but her son,
Steve, said she always used her Christian principles to discipline him when he was a child.Gay
was very involved in her community and was instrumental in the Ranlo Fire Department Ladies
Auxiliary. She was feisty and she was not shy to speak her mind. Her family remembers her as
an amazing cook and they especially loved her macaroni pie and potato soup. She will be
greatly missed by her family, friends, and the community.
Gay is preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Leola Thornburg Gilbert; her husband,

their memories of Gay and carry on her legacy are her son, Steven Earl Alexander and his wife,

Eric; and Angela Bell Duncan; grandsons Derek Preston Alexander and his wife, Shannon; and
Eric Weaver and his wife, Karla. Great-children; Kate Alexander, Adrianna and Preston Hendrix,

Smith, who gave Gay the utmost care and attention up until the end. Words cannot adequately
express the family’s gratitude for the love Kathy gave her.
