Genevieve Elizabeth Gibson

Genevieve Elizabeth Reeves Gibson, 89, was a devoted Christian who was always reading her Bible. She read the Bible through 5 times. She loved her church, her family, reading and gardening. She enjoyed word searches and she had a good sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents James Claude Reeves and Lorene Elizabeth Patterson Reeves, her husband of 55 years, James E. Gibson, a daughter Barbara Fore and 10 brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jerry Gibson and wife Teresa, Larry Gibson and wife Joy and Carolyn Whitesides and husband Donnie, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great granddaughters and 8 great grandsons.

A celebration of Genevieve’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday October 12, 2016 at Bethlehem Church, 575 Separk Circle, Gastonia, North Carolina. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Pastor Dickie Spargo and Chaplain Steve Black will offer words of comfort to family and friends who gather to remember Genevieve.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Gaston Hospice, 258 E. Garrison Boulevard, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054.
