Gennette Lyle

Irma “Gennette” Lyle, 93 passed away on October 6, 2016 after a lengthy illness with her family by her side. She was born September 3, 1923 to the late George and Grace (Ramey) Wilson. Gennette came from a long line of ministers in her family and was married to one for 44 years so church was her life. She loved to sing in the church choir, cook meals and garden. She loved her family and will always be remembered as being a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Gennette leaves behind to cherish her memory two children, daughter, Dreema Biddy and husband, Larry of Gastonia, NC, son, Ronnie Lyle of Smithfield, NC; four grandchildren, Jennifer Biddy, Mark Lyle (Suzanne), Yvette Lyle and Michael Lyle (Amanda); twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Collene Axley of Mickie, TN; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gennette was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Reverend Joseph Lyle, grandson, Scott Biddy, three brothers and four sisters.

A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, October 10, 2016 at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. Reverend Ronnie Lyle will officiate.

The family will receive friends Monday, from 3:00-4:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
