George Herman Maples, age 82, passed away on April 24, 2026. He was born on October 20, 1943 in Gaston County to the late Hiram and Elsie Maples.

Mr. Maples proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid golfer, a loving father, and retired from Duke Power as a lineman.

He is survived by his fiancée, Brenda Stowe; sons, Keith Maples (Tamela Speaks) and Cameron Maples (Leslie Maples) and grandson, Keith Maples (Elizabeth Maples).

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May1, 2026 at Westview Gardens.
