

Gerald Franklin Hendrix, 74, of Cramerton passed away Thursday May 18, 2017. Gerald will be missed by many. Gerald grew up in Cramerton and attended Cramerton schools. He loved the outdoors including camping, fishing, hunting and hiking. In his youth he was a Boy Scout. Gerald also volunteered for the Civil Air Patrol. He was an active member at Dallas Church of God. Gerald loved to help others that did not have the advantages he did. He was a great caretaker attending to his mother and two sisters before they died. Gerald was a devoted family man, a hard worker and a compassionate friend. He worked in the textile industry and retired from Pharr Yarns.
Gerald was the son of the late Nora Mae Kirby Hendrix and Brady Lee Hendrix. Gerald was one of nine children.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 55 years, Linda Webb Hendrix, a special nephew Mark Hendrix and 2 sister in laws and 4 brother in laws.
A Celebration of Life for Gerald will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday May 20, 2017 at the Dallas Church of God, 311 S. College Street, Dallas North Carolina. Pastor D.R. Shortridge will offer words of encouragement to family and friends who gather to remember Gerald.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Committal will occur following the celebration of Life Service at Gaston Memorial Park.
