

Gerald graduated from Holbrook High school, class of 1962. He proudly served two terms for the Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Freemasons. After his service in the military, Gerald was an advocate for abused women and worked in the mental health field. Gerald also worked alongside his father as a plumber and eventually owned his own plumbing company for many years. Gerald loved his family, birds, coffee, and his cat Mittens. He always had a joke to tell.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his brother Robert “Butch” Ramsey.
Gerald is survived by his sister Brenda Black, sons Gerald Ramsey JR and Terry Ramsey, daughter Darinda Tanner, and grandchildren Terry Ramsey Jr. (Alleyna), Gerald Ramsey lll, Brooke Ramsey, Ricky Dale Tanner III, Casey Ramsey, Harley Tanner, and Kaleb Tanner, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday August 18th at Carothers Funeral home. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm, and the funeral service will begin at 2:00pm followed by a full military honors graveside committal.
