After a short illness, our dear Mother passed away on July 3, 2026 at the age of 85.
Iris was a member of Hickory Seventh-Day Adventist Church and retired from Gaston County Schools after 30 years of employment.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 50 years, Price Rowe; parents, Wallace and Zelda Williams; brother, Barry Williams and wife Barbara; sister-in-law, Sarah Williams and granddaughter, Abbey Wofford.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Rowe and wife Lisa; daughters, Donna Clemmer and husband Dan, and April Wofford and husband Chip; grandchildren, Christian Clemmer and wife Kara, Meredith Rowe Menzer and husband Andrew, Makenzie Rowe, Marin Wofford and Matthew Wofford; great grandchildren, Jack, Riley and Henry Clemmer, Leighton, Harrison and Collins Menzer. Also surviving are her brothers Wallace, Jr. and wife Kathleen and Frank Williams.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia. Pastor Art Randall of Hickory Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Hickory will officiate the committal.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donation be made in Iris’ memory to Hickory Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 172 23rd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601 or Tri County Animal Rescue in Alexis, NC.
