Irmgard Jones

Irmgard “Gady” Jones, 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 06, 2013. She was born March 26, 1925 in Frankfurt, Germany to the late John Steinger and Marta Ann Steinbach. Gady lived most of her adult life in Gastonia and retired after 12 years from Firestone Textiles.

Irmgard is survived by two sons, Jimmy Jones and wife, Kathy of Gastonia, NC, Johnny Jones of Belmont, NC (Tilda Jones of Cramerton, NC); four grandchildren, Dawn Carr and husband,Chris, Christopher John Jones, Jimmy Scott Jones and wife, Nikki, Jennifer Jones Byer and husband, Ian; five great-grandchildren, Abbey and Addison Jones, Carson and Zackary Carr, Dalton Rhodes.

Irmgard was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Jones and one daughter, Brenda Jones.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 8 at Carothers Funeral Home, 312 West 2nd Ave., Gastonia, NC. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
