A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of Alexander and Julia Godfrey.
She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Barker (Larry), “Andi” Fletcher (Mike), Deborah Messer; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd “Tucker”; sons, Scott and Alex Messer; 5 brothers and 1 sister.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Thursday at Gaston Memorial Park with Rev. Ray Collins, Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
