"A lovely woman who worshipped the Lord through writing gospel music."

Janice “Jan” Fay (Horne) Johnson of Lincolnton, NC went home to be with the Lord June 9, 2020. She was a talented songwriter and worshipped the Lord through her love of writing gospel music. Jan enjoyed taking long car rides through the country. She was a talented southern cook and truly cherished her family. Jan is the daughter of the late Fannie C. (Long) and John B. Horne. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Earle and Catheline Horne along with five brothers, Harold Horne, Benny Horne, Reverend Leonard Horne, John Horne, and Jim Horne.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 53 years, Calvin Johnson. Grieving the loss of their mother are her three beloved daughters and two sons, Cindy Wech & husband, Steve, of Stanley, NC; Darlene Simpson & husband, David, of Stanley, NC; Margaret Wooten & husband, Jr., of Lincolnton, NC; Tony Brown & wife, Mary, of Love Valley, NC and Eric Johnson of Cherryville, NC. Janice leaves behind six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Missing their sister is Gaye Arrowood & husband, Terry, of Mount Holly, NC; Brenda Osborne of Canton, IL; and Reverend G.W. Horne & wife, Katherine, of Alexis, NC.
