J.C. (Jake) Keller Sr.

Jacob Charles Keller Sr., 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 05, 2013. He was born February 20, 1927 in Cleveland County to the late John and Jean (Falls) Keller. J.C. Keller (Jake) began his career as an agent for Life of Georgia when he was 21 and retired with them in 1987 after 39 years of service.

Jacob is survived by four children, Chuck Keller and wife, Berta of Gainesville, GA, Tim Keller and of Gastonia, NC, Steve Keller and wife, Dianne of Charlotte, NC, Lorie Rogers of Gastonia, NC; seven grandsons, Ben Keller, Brad Keller, Bob Keller, Austin Glover, Gavin Glover, Calvin Keller and Josh Keller; half-sister, Shirley Keller Smith and husband, John of York, SC.

Jacob was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Briggs Keller, sister, Melba Dills and two brothers, Stokes Keller and Dob Keller.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Loray Baptist Church in Gastonia. Burial will follow at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City with military honors. Dr. Kent Cranford will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
