Josephine (Abbate) Visalli, 98, of Gastonia went to her heavenly home on Wednesday November 10, 2020. Josephine was a resident of Alexandria Place. Josephine took good care of herself often waking up early to exercise. Josephine had fortitude and perseverance. She took time to know her neighbors and she was always charitable to them. Josephine was strong willed and industrious. She liked to bake and sew. Josephine valued her friends, even keeping up with some of her High School friends until her death. Josephine was a faithful Catholic with a prayerful heart and faithful attendance at her church. Josephine will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all that knew and loved her.
Her husband, Frank Visalli, preceded her in death in 1979 after 33 years of marriage. Josephine is the daughter of the late Diana (Tuso) and Anthony Abbate. Her sister, Frances Visalli, also precedes her in death.
Left behind to cherish their memories of Josephine and to carry on her legacy are her daughter Kathleen Clementina Graziano and her husband Dino, and her son Anthony Visalli and his wife Joyce. Grieving the loss of their grandmother are Father John Grazino, Amy Ferrelli and her husband Kevin, Brad Nelson and his wife Jessica and Eric Nelson. Her great-grandchildren are Vincenzo Ferrelli, Guiseppe Ferrelli, Joel Nelson, Jared Nelson, Jacob Nelson, Kassady Nelson and Austin Nelson. Gloria De Bruno is missing her sister and missing their aunt are Beth Huneycutt, Diana De Bruno and Tony De Bruno.
The family is planning a private Mass and burial.
