Judith Gail Frady departed this life for her eternal life Sunday, March 12, 2023 surrounded by those who loved her most. Her health had declined over the last year, but her spirit remained strong even to the last day. Gail was a hard worker and a person of faith. She instilled these values in her sons who strive to live up to her legacy. Until her health declined, she was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, participating in a variety of activities. She was active in the senior ministry enjoying fellowship and short trips to various places with Christian Tours.
She loved her game shows, cowboy movies and the Braves. She enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, especially baseball and would go, even when she had to use her walker or wheelchair. She loved her grandkids with a passion. She loved all of her son’s pets, especially Simba and Ozzy. She loved playing games, especially card games and spent countless hours enjoying, bingo, rummy and Uno. She loved to laugh, something she passed on to her family. She was a role model of what it means to love God and love people. In her final days, she spent many wonderful hours at the Senior Center of Senior TLC.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Charlie and Mildred Costner as well as her two brothers, Charles and Melvin Costner.
She is survived by her son Carl and his wife Shelley, and their children Ashley (and her spouse Carrie Ross) and Ally. She is also survived by her son Jonathan Brittain and his wife Crystal and their children Brooklyn (and her spouse TJ Brown), Julian (and his girlfriend Hailey Minier )and Andrew. She is also survived by her son Scott and his wife Dana and their children Lauren and Carter. She has two great grandchildren Kaison and Piper, son and daughter to Brooklyn and TJ.
Her life celebration will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park with the visitation beginning at noon.
Flowers are welcome as are gifts to her church home, Calvary Baptist Church in Gastonia.
