Dr. Julius George Bekesi

George graduated with a PhD from Alberta Canada. He was the head of neoplastic diseases at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY until his retirement where upon he relocated from Teaneck, NJ to Gastonia, NC and later to Tryon Estates in Columbus, NC.

George is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eva Bekesi of Columbus, NC; children, Michelle Bekesi Hendrix of Belmont, NC, and Richard (Wendy) Bekesi of San Juan, TX; grandsons, Devon, Collin and Ian and granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Jessica and Julian.

He will be remembered as the patriarch of our small family who was always there to give us advice. He was very loved by all of us.

A celebration of his life will be held at 6:00pm, Wednesday, July 2 at Carothers Funeral Home, 312 W. 2nd Ave, Gastonia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
