She was born in Bennettsville, SC on February 14, 1929 to Henry Jasper and Cornelia Newton Riley. Kitty graduated from Stratford Hall and received a degree in English from Stratford College, both in Danville, VA.
She was married to Samuel (Sam) Evans Comstock May 2, 1959 until his death October 21, 1984.
She had a wicked sense of humor—loved pranks & practical jokes; was passionate about talking to people (everywhere & on the phone); spent many, many hours shopping; enjoyed travel & adventures; and loved her friends and family very deeply.
Survived by daughter Kristen Comstock; brother Paul Riley and his wife Evelyn Riley; niece Mary Riley Pettigrew (Kevin); nephews Miles Riley (Adrienne), Jack Riley (Elizabeth), and Will Riley (Heather).
Great-nieces Christy Wheeler, (Josh) Claire Riley Greco (Tony), Anne Riley Smith, Lydia Riley, Madeline Riley, Rebecca Riley. Great-nephews Courtland Pettigrew and Jackson Riley (Dovie).
Great-great nieces Charly & Cydney Wheeler, Nora Greco. Great-great nephew Jake Wheeler.
A visitation will be held from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm on Friday, September 26, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church of Belmont with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 1:00 pm.
