Laurie Ragan Jenkins

A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late, Donald and Geneva Ragan.

Mrs. Jenkins was a Christian poet for at least 10 years and many of her poems were featured on Christian websites. After the birth of her son, she decided to change her career and has been a homemaker and home school teacher for the last 18 years.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Steve Jenkins; son, Bruce Jenkins; sister, Robin McDonald; many nephews and nieces and their families, who are all well loved.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa Scarbro.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.

Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
