Leonard B. Short, 94, of Gastonia, NC, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2016. After entering the retail furniture business after World War II, he was well known within the furniture industry as the owner of Leonard Short Furniture Company in Gastonia, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esphia Short.
Left behind to cherish his memory are two children, Darlene Heafner and husband, Terry of Blacksburg, SC; and Leonard Short Jr. and wife, Gina of Huntersville, NC; five grandchildren, Allison Todd (Monty), Meredith Bise (Mike), Karla Wamsley, Rhonda Lanier (Darren) and Kymberly Heafner (Fiancé David); ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held at Bethany ARP Church Cemetery with close friends and family.
