Mable Christine Spargo

1929-2017

Mable Threlked Spargo, 87, of Gastonia passed away peacefully on April 22, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born in Gaston County on September 30, 1929 to the late Carl Edward and Carrie McClure Threlkeld.

Mable was a retired caterer having owned and operated Mable Spargo Catering for over 40 years. She was past state president of the women’s auxiliary of the National Association of Letter Carriers as well as president of the local auxiliary.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 67 years William R. Spargo, sons Scott Spargo and wife Robin and Steven Spargo all of Gastonia; and grandson Jeff Spargo and wife Ashley and two great granddaughters Grayson and Tessa of Burnsville, NC

A celebration of Mable’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday April 25, 2017 at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM before the service. Officiating the service is Pastor Jeff Spargo.
