Her Lord said unto her, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:23 (KJV)…
The Lord was speaking of Marie Queen Smith who went to be with her Savior on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the age of 72. Marie took her last breath on earth at the White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain North Carolina before taking her first breath in Heaven and being reunited with her parents, Charles Hilliard and Hazel Marie Queen.
Marie had many loves…. Her husband and family mostly…. And to add she loved people, especially children. She was known to care for them as she did for others. She and her husband were at one time foster parents. Marie was a member of the Red Hats Society. That seemed to fit her personality well because she was a socialite lady. She also loved to sell Tupperware and was also one of the Homelite Girls who met monthly. Marie loved animals. She’ll be remembered for caring for the stray animals as well. And not to forget, she loved horticulture. Her house reflected that talent immensely.
Those left behind to cherish the memories of Marie are her husband of 52 years, William Walton (Bill) Smith; her daughter and son in law: Lynne and Curtis Wilson along with her grandson Jonathan Wilson all of Dallas, North Carolina. Marie’s brother and sister in law, James Robert (Jimmy) and Brenda Queen of Gastonia, North Carolina.
The Celebration of Life ceremony for Marie will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 28, 2015 at The New Testament Church of the Firstborn, 1508 Hargrove Road, Gastonia, North Carolina 28052 with Pastors Curtis Wilson and Kevin Kellough officiating.
Ms. Smith’s family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. ~ 2:00 P.M. Monday prior to the ceremony.
Graveside and committal service will follow the ceremony in the Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054.
