She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, the light of her life, her mother and father Rosemary and Thomas Tinsley. She was also preceded in death by her dear friend Phyllis whom she shared a lot of laughs with. She is survived by her sister Barbara and several cousins.
Her dear friends Lisa and Jay were at her side upon her death. Lisa and Jay’s children, Josh and Hannah were so special to Marilyn, she considered them her own.
Marilyn loved the beach, traveling the United States and bike week with Robert, her home and many kind neighbors.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, located at 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC, 28054, US. She will be laid to rest at Gaston Memorial Park following the service.
