Mary Elizabeth Martin

Proverbs 31:26… She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue... Mary Elizabeth Treece Martin, age 87 passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina. Those who knew Mary knew that her favorite color was purple. She was a loving mother, grandmother and she opened her hands to the poor and reached out her hands to the needy. Mary loved sitting in her porch swing to enjoy her time alone and with her family.

Mary was the daughter of the late Paul Postell Treece and Maggie Elizabeth Burleson Treece. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Martin, Sr.

Those left to cherish her beautiful memories are her son and daughter in law Robert and Renea Martin Jr along with her granddaughter Amy Nicole all of Belmont, North Carolina.

A private graveside and committal service open only to select family and friends will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Gaston Memorial Park in the Singing Tower Garden. Reverend Jerry Pennington will be delivering words of comfort to the family and friends along with Terry Thomas to sing a special song selected by the family.
