Ollie Mae Johnston Shepherd

Ollie Mae Shepherd, 85, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015. She was born in Gaston County on November 16, 1929 to the late Lloyd and Nettie Johnston. Ollie will always be remembered as a loving person who was extremely dedicated to her family. She loved to bake, especially pound cakes, but always gave them away. Ollie was always ready to give anyone a helping hand. She retired from Wix after 25 years of service and enjoyed her retirement years being with her family.

Ollie leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 70 years, Richard Shepherd of Dallas, NC; son, Andy Shepherd and his wife, Sandy of Gastonia; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Flossie Atchley of Gastonia; several nieces and nephews.

Ollie was the youngest of seven children. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Robin Johnson Hospice House, 5005 Shepherds Way Drive, Dallas, NC 28034.
