

A true “drama queen” who loved being involved in everyone’s life best describes the personality of Patricia Ann McCarthy, 63, who passed away peacefully October 25, 2017. She was born August 2, 1954 in Gaston County to Bobby Ray Setzer and the late Elizabeth Burlett Bishop. Pat was a lady who loved having people around her. She opened her home to anyone, especially family and had a warm giving heart. She enjoyed doing crafts of any kind and loved Hershey chocolate and Hagen Dais. Pat will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memories are her four children, Andy Nelson McLeod Sr. and wife, Dawn of Kings Mountain, Sandy McLeod of Cherryville, Randy McLeod of Kings Mountain and Elizabeth Ann Eastridge of Manor, OH; sister, Deborah Lynn Guy and husband, Lewis of Dallas, NC, brothers, Bobby Ray Setzer Jr. of Mt. Holly, Edward Michael Setzer of Mt. Holly and Steven Michael Setzer of West Springfield, MA and wife, Renee of Mt. Holly, NC; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray “Chip” McCarthy and her mother, Elizabeth Ann Bishop.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel in Gastonia, NC. Pastor Timothy Setzer will preside. Entombment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia, North Carolina.
