

Quentin Grant Hutchins, Sr., 93, of Gastonia, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Morningside Assisted Living, Gastonia. He was born May 26, 1918 in Gastonia and was the son of the late Charles and Lillie Willis Hutchins.
Mr. Hutchins retired from Bellsouth Telecommunications after thirty eight years. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II, where he received the Bronze Star. He was a member of Flint Groves Baptist Church.
Mr. Hutchins is survived by his daughter, Cynthia McDonald and husband Larry of Dallas; son, Daryl Hutchins and wife Libby of Gastonia; twin brother, Kermit Hutchins and wife Margie of Bessemer City; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at The Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Bowers officiating.
Interment will follow at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, Dallas with military honors by the U. S. Army.
Mr. Hutchins was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Aline Long Hutchins; son, Quentin Grant Hutchins, Jr.
