Raymond was born on October 22, 1934, in Gaston County, NC to the late Joseph Ervin Clinton and the late Grace Ballard Clinton. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Summey Clinton.
Raymond was a proud United States Air Force Veteran. He was a loving and devoted father to his two children and enjoyed spending his time outdoors tending to his flower garden, watching NASCAR, and was very active in the sport of bowling as a bowler and a board member.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Joey Clinton (Belinda) and Kristin Clinton; grandchildren, Brandon Childers (Maddie), Caleb Childers (Jessica), Heather McSwain, Dustin Gibson; and great-grandchild, Kendal McSwain.
A graveside service will take place on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Gaston Memorial Park at 1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054.
