Richard Lee Hayes

Richard Lee Hayes, 75, of Dallas passed away at home, with his family at his side, Thursday, November 10, 2016. He was an avid fisherman and he loved to spend time with his family. Richard was unique in that he was the 7th son of the 7th son and he was born on Halloween. Richard worked at Pharr Yarns until he retired. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Richard was the son of the late Ed Hayes and Georgia Webb Hayes. He was also preceded in death by six brothers.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 30 years, Sandra Hayes, daughters Leigh Annette Lambert and husband Jay of Lincolnton and Rebecca Michelle Hayes of Dallas and son Richard Timothy Hayes of Dallas. Also remembering Richard are his three brothers William Marshall Hayes of Baltimore, Tom Hayes of Gastonia and Charles David Hayes of Dallas. Richard leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a special great niece, Kellie David and his beloved pet Missie Hayes.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina.
