Robert William Greene

Robert William Greene, 76, passed away Friday, October 05, 2012. He was born July 20, 1936 in Catawba County to the late Robert and Margaret (Almond) Greene. Robert retired from the US Navy after serving for 23 years as a sub fleet Nuclear Engineer. He became an ordained minister at Marietta Street Baptist Church and later became a member at First Baptist Church in Gastonia. He loved being involved as a Mason and was an avid roller coaster enthusiast.

Robert is survived by two sons, Robert S. Greene and wife, Shannon, of Gastonia, NC, and Edward Barry Greene; brother, David Greene of Gastonia, NC; grandchildren, Patrick Cody Greene and Jordyn Noel Greene both of Gastonia.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, October 13 at First Baptist Church. Dr. Ray Ammons will preside.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
