Rodney was born on April 21, 1968, in Gaston County, North Carolina to the late Freddy Lamar Helton and the late Frances Auten Cook. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his parental grandparents, Fred and Ruth Helton; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Helen Auten; and niece, Courtney Thomas.
In honor of Rodney’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Knight; children, Lee Felton (Ronny), Rocky Helton and Tyler Helton (Maddie); grandchild, Trey Felton; sisters, Becky Jordan (Robbie), Lisa Harmon (Jamie) and Ashley Safrit (Jonathan); nieces and nephews, Robbie Jordan (Keri), Jonathan Jordan (Whitney), Haley Berckman (Nick), Peyton Safrit and Bailey Safrit; as well as other family members.
