Ronald David Bowers, age 76, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 with family members by his side. Ron is the son of the late William and Catherine Bowers. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Jackie Bowers, Billy Bowers, George Bowers and Frank Bowers.
Ron is survived by two sisters: Catherine Messer of Lowell and Margaret Sullivan of Gastonia; two brothers: Freddie Bowers and Tommy Bowers both of New York. Ron is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
After serving 4 years in the United States Air Force, Ron taught for 30 years at the Island Drafting and Technical Institute in Amityville, New York where he was loved by his students. After retiring from teaching, Ron moved to Gaston County. He loved his neighbors and friends in the Cramerton Oaks development.
Visitation for Ron will be on Sunday, May 24, 2015, from 3pm-5pm at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park.
