Ronald Duane Eaves

Ronald D. Eaves, 64, of Gastonia, NC departed this earthly life on June 3, 2022, surrounded by family. Ron was born in Hutchinson, KS on November 23, 1957, to Verna and the late Gerhard Eaves. He leaves behind his mother, Verna V. Eaves, twin brother Don (Kerry) Eaves of Jacksonville, FL, brother-in-law Andrew Bezanson of Berlin, MA., nieces Danielle Hernandez and Megan King. He was a "Great Uncle" in both senses to Chance and Tucker King. He is survived by his Aunt Delores (Charles) Knudsen of San Antonio, TX, Rose Ann (Marvin) Young of Augusta, GA, Karen Eaves of Des Moines, IA., and Allyn (Dee) Eaves of Apple Valley, MN., also many cousins, coworkers and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gerhard, sister Susan Eaves Bezanson, uncles Marvin Young, Jon Eaves, Gordon Eaves and Aunt Janet Harmon.

Ron was a graduate of Salem High School in NH, where he was a kettle drummer in the marching band and drum and bugle corp. During high school, he also became passionate about ice hockey and loved being goalie. Ron went on to Hawthorne College, Antrim, NH. where he furthered his love of aviation. His career took him to NH, Boston, Pittsburgh, and finally Charlotte, NC.

To know Ron is to love him. WE were blessed to have him as ours and he is sorely missed. A memorial service will be held on July 29th at Ingomar United Methodist Church at 11:00 am in Pittsburgh, PA.
