Ruby Sarah Nix Sisk

Gardens of flowers are planted, nurtured and cared for by someone with a green thumb… This best describes Ruby Nix Sisk, age 94 who left her flower garden behind for others to continue in her footsteps on Monday, October 5, 2015 at her residence.

Ruby was an independent lady, unafraid of working and volunteering her time reading to others.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Sisk, her parents Millard Nix and Stella Lanning Nix; her daughter Yvonne S. Parsons; her son Robert Glenn “Bob” Sisk.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her granddaughter Dana Tuck of Gastonia, NC; two grandsons: Gary Parsons and wife Sheila of Atlanta, GA, Donald Parsons and wife Loretta of Kings Mountain, NC; nine great-grandchildren: Joshua, Ashley, Lily, Jayden, Kyle, Aaron, Mark, Aaron and Samuel; two sisters: Betty Lynch and Pat Howe and husband don all of Gastonia, NC; one son-in-law: Robert H. “Bill” Parson of Gastonia, NC.

Celebrating the Life of Ruby will be at 3:00 PM, Thursday, October 8, 2015 in the Chapel at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054 with Pastor Junior Morris to officiate. Pallbearers are Dana Tuck, Donald Parsons, Gary Parson, Robert Parson, James Smith and Brandon Adams.

Her family will welcome friends from 1:00 PM -3:00 PM prior to the Ceremony.

Graveside will follow the ceremony at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054.
