Sandra Ann Wright Lingerfelt

Sandra "Sandy" Wright Lingerfelt, 72, of Gastonia passed away peacefully October 17, 2017 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton, NC. She was born on July 15, 1945 in Gastonia, NC to the late Oscar Thomas Wright and Marie Cothran Wright of Cramerton, NC, and is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Michael "Tink" Lingerfelt.

Sandy graduated from Kings College in Charlotte and worked for Duke Energy Corp. as a dispatcher until she retired. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cramerton, where she organized the children’s Christmas plays and taught Sunday School. Sandy enjoyed collecting clocks, watching game shows and was an excellent cook. She liked to listen to country music and early Beatles music and will also be fondly remembered for her love of her dachshunds; Abby, Penny, and Gracie.

Sandy is survived by her cousins; Keith T. Brittain and wife Laura of Pineville, NC, and their children Allison, Sean, and Sarah; and Wayne R. Brittain and husband Bob Tucker of Myrtle Beach, SC.

A service celebrating the life of Sandy will be held at First Baptist Church of Cramerton at 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 23, 2017. Burial at Gaston Memorial Park will follow directly after.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church.
