Born in 1954 to Bernard Bunner and Mary Ellen Davis, Scott was raised in Washington, Pennsylvania. A proud athlete, he went undefeated in wrestling for three years at Trinity High School and graduated from Washington High in 1972. He recently attended his 53rd class reunion, reconnecting with friends and family.
Scott later moved to North Carolina, where he spent five decades building a life rooted in love, service, and friendship. He was a devoted father to Nick and Nicole — his greatest joy and lasting legacy.
With his Pennsylvania roots, he remained a loyal Steelers fan and became a Carolina Panthers PSL owner. For the past decade, he was a beloved presence at Floyd & Blackies Coffee Shop in Cramerton, NC — an unofficial greeter who offered lollipops and inspiration.
Scott lived 37 years in recovery and gave generously to others with honesty and hope. He was a gentle soul — remembered for his wit, generosity, and unwavering support.
He rests in peace and rises in glory.
A visitation for Scott will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM.
