Vicky Joyce Thompson

She was the daughter of the late Clara Mae Rich Parrott and Norman Hudson. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Freddie Morris Thompson; her sister, Jerrie Ann Parrott Colvard; her grandmother, Stella Crisp Rich; and her aunt, Gladys Rich Perry Rhyne.

Vicky married F. Morris Thompson in 1964 and was married until his death in 2025. They had one child, Ashley Elizabeth Thompson, in 1973 and made their home on Hollandale Dr for the rest of their lives. Vicky was a diligent worker at various businesses in Gastonia and later in life with her husband, built and operated multiple furniture businesses, including one traveling up and down the coasts of North Carolina and South Carolina. Through their work, Vicky and Morris touched many lives and made countless friends along the way. Vicky was also a deeply loyal friend to her friend Terrie Hamilton and Cousin Peggy.

Vicky was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Thompson Stansell; son-in-law, Robert Bruce Stansell; four grandchildren, Matthew, Joy, Hannah, and Benjamin; cousin, Peggy Helms; brother-in-law Jackie Colvard; and niece, Amy Aftimos.

Visitation will be held at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054, US, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A Graveside Service will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
