Vivian (Hood) Lowrance, 68, of Gastonia passed away peacefully in the early morning of Thursday September 6, 2018. Vivian was a resident of The Wellington House in Gastonia. Her family describes her as feisty with a great sense of humor. On the other hand she was quite tender hearted. She loved her family most of all and she deeply missed her husband who preceded her in death. Vivian loved flowers, the beach and fishing. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Vivian is the daughter of the late Jessie Viola (Parker) and John David Hood, Sr. Her husband, Donald Lowrance preceded her in death.
Vivian is survived by her two daughters; Penny Lowrance and husband Brad and Loucrisia Crisp and husband James “Tazz” Crisp. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Nicholas Lowrance, Kiersten Burgin and Cynthia Ramseur and her husband Fletcher. Her sister Evelyn and husband Charles R. Searcy and brother John David Hood, Jr. are also grieving the loss of their sister.
Family and friends will gather to remember Vivian at 1:00 PM on Saturday September 22, 2018 at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 South New Hope Road, Gastonia. Pastor Kent Cranford, of Loray Baptist Church, will offer words of encouragement and hope for those gathered to remember Vivian.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Vivian’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or alz.org.
The family of Vivian Hood Lowrance has entrusted her care to the staff at the Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park. We are deeply honored.
