William “Bill” Andrew Pritchett, Jr, 79, of Dallas passed away at home on Saturday March 2, 2024. Bill was an adoring husband who loved life and enjoyed sharing his passions with his beloved wife, Judy. His favorite pastimes were enjoying his boat and motorcycle. He was a hard worker who spent most of his life in the transportation industry as a truck driver. Bill loved trucking and all the friends who he met during his career. He cherished his family and loved spending his free time with them. Bill will be missed by many and will always be remembered as someone who did not take life for granted but always insisted on living it to the fullest.
Bill is the son of the late Grace Gladys (Haynes) Pritchett and William Andrew Pritchett, Sr. His sisters, Wilma Jean Davis, Margret McCurry and Marjorie Pickens have also preceded him in death.
Bill leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Judy (Brooks) Pritchett of the home and his two daughters, Mary Ann Hughes and her husband Chris and Delenna Brummett. His legacy includes five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Bill also leaves behind his brother Dennis Pritchett and his wife Jacqueline. Bill was especially close to his nephew and niece George and Tracy Begley.
A service celebrating Bill’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday March 7, 2024 at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 1:00 pm, at the funeral home. Bill will be laid to rest at Gaston Memorial Park immediately following the celebration of life service. Reverend Chris Doster of Maranatha Baptist Church will officiate. Honored to be Bill’s pallbearers are Dennis Pritchett, George Begley, Billy Brooks, Larry Brooks, Mike Hudson, Chris Pritchett and Steve Morris.
