

She was born on February 14, 1934, in Taylor, Texas to Alvin and Minnie (Lieberum) Kerlin. She married Elton Fritz Zulauf, on November 9, 1952, at St. Peters Church in Coupland, Texas, where both were confirmed.
After raising her own children, she cared for many children in her home. She enjoyed caring for children, watching them grow and even had a few parents return as their families grew. She was an avid sewer often creating garments for herself as well as other family members. Her other joys included gardening, cooking and various arts and crafts.
She was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Austin where she participated in various social activities.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
Survivors are daughter Rhonda Potts and husband Stephen of Georgetown, Texas; son Byron Zulauf of Georgetown, Texas; granddaughter, Kristin Potts of Round Rock, Texas; grandson, Bradley Potts of Austin, Texas; granddaughter, Jamie Cook and husband Andrew of Jarrell, Texas, granddaughter Paige Zulauf of Salado, Texas and great grandson Zane Cook of Jarrell, Texas; sister LaVonne (Kerlin) Noack and husband Carl of Smithville, Texas; and twin brother Alvin Kerlin and wife Jalane of Round Rock, Texas.
A joint memorial service will be held at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, on Saturday, 23rd of October at 1:00 p.m. for Alvera and her husband Elton Zulauf, who passed on December 31, 2020, and whose services were delayed due to Covid restrictions. Please join us in a celebration of their lives. Burial at St. Peter's Cemetery in Coupland, Texas will follow memorial services.
