Alvie Ray Clark, was born on December 5, 1946 in Austin, Texas to Weldon and Fay Clark. He passed away on May 29, 2026 at the age of 79. He was a devoted family man and a faithful Christian. Everyone knew that the back row at church was his.
Alvie spent his younger years in South Austin before his family moved to their ranch in Creedmoor, Texas when he was in the 8th grade. He graduated from Del Valle High School and went on to attain a BS in Social Science and Secondary Education from Southwest Texas State University. Alvie taught in the Raymondville and Austin School Districts. He began working in the Safety and Training Department of the Lower Colorado River Authority in Austin in 1974. Alvie trained and developed safety programs that offered specialized training to customers. His dry sense of humor and down-to-earth manner enabled him to reach all audiences effectively. He would go on to retire from LCRA in 2006 after a 32-year career.
Alvie met May Bell Linebarger on a blind date arranged by his best friend. They were married in August of 1970 and the Lord blessed them with two children, Jennifer Kathleen and Alvie Jerome (A.J.). They were married for 55 years. Alvie and May Bell raised their family at Alive’s childhood home in Creedmoor. They were active members of Boulevard Baptist and then Manchaca Baptist Church during those years. Their lives were filled with family and friends. There was a lot of hunting, fishing, and camping in between baseball, softball and football games. Alvie spent many evenings practicing baseball and softball in the yard with his kids. He was also an avid gardener who seemed to be able to make anything grow. They left the house on the hill in 1991, moving to La Grange, TX where Alvie continued working for LCRA as a safety coordinator based out of the Fayette Power Plant. Alvie and May Bell lived there for 21 years where they were active in the Second Baptist Church, Football Booster Club, and other community activities. Retiring to Georgetown in 2010, they became members of First Baptist, Georgetown.
Alvie was a wonderful family man and Christian, who worked hard, instilling a strong work-ethic in his children. He provided an excellent example for both Jennifer and A.J. on how to be a Godly husband and father.
Alvie is preceded in death by his father, Weldon Ray Clark, mother, Margie Fay Clark and sister, Debra Kay Clark.
Alvie is survived by his wife, May Bell Clark; his daughter, Jennifer Schrier (John); his son, A.J. Clark (Jennifer); four very loved grandchildren, Faith Seach (Preston), Tommy Clark, Cale Clark, and Reese Clark; two great-grandchildren, Sadie Mae Seach and Summer Rae Seach and many beloved nephews, nieces, friends, and neighbors.
A visitation for Alvie will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow the funeral service at Bagdad Cemetery, 400 N Bagdad Road, Leander, Texas 78641.
