Tony was a graduate of the Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine (now Northeastern Ohio Medical University) and held a BS/MD in internal medicine. Because of his health he had been unable to practice medicine for several years so he focused instead on his other passions in life.
He was an advocate for and foster of lost, abandoned and abused pets. Family was extremely important to him and he kept continuous ties to his family in Ohio in spite of the distance. Tony also loved to cook and entertain. He had the sort of personality that others migrated to and was always ready to listen and offer a smile, hug or shoulder to cry on to anyone in need of one, even a complete stranger. He was a member of the Humane Society of the United States, and regularly supported the Marine Corps’ Toys For Tots campaign and Texas Humane Heroes.
Tony is predeceased by his father, Collander “Joe” Coleman. He is survived by his husband, Michael Good-Kermane of Leander, Texas; mother, Joan Coleman of Canton, Ohio; siblings, Melissa Kermane, Chandra Coleman and Marlin Coleman of Canton, Ohio; sisters, Chanon Johnson of Cedar Park, Texas and Tara Walker of Austin, Texas; Aunt Jane and Uncle Greg Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio; Uncle Jack and Aunt Gloria Prater of Mequon, Wisconsin; nieces, Danasia Brown and Aileen Kermane of Canton, Ohio and Latoya Kermane of Columbus, Ohio; and grandniece, Tra’vayia Swinson and grandnephew Tra’vion Swinson of Columbus, Ohio.
Tony’s husband and family would like to thank the nursing staff at Seton Medical Center Williamson and all the physicians who collaborated in his very complex care, especially Dr. Peter Hines from Austin Kidney Associates, Dr. David George from Texas Oncology and Dr. James Hull from Austin Regional Clinic. We also thank the pharmacy staff.
