Ascension Cantu Jr.

He was born on September 11, 1952, in Ralls, Texas, to Ascension Sr. and Alexandra Cantu. Ascension attended Lubbock Dunbar High School and graduated from Southwest School of Electronics in Austin, Texas. Ascension proudly served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. On June 16, 1983, Ascension married Carmen Reynaga of Georgetown, Texas.

Ascension Cantu, Jr., will be especially remembered for his work ethic, his spirit and his ability to fix anything. "Cantu" was an avid movie watcher and loved attending high school and college football games.

Survivors include his loving wife Carmen Cantu of Georgetown, Texas, stepsons Ricky Castro of Georgetown, Texas and Rob Castro of Dallas, Texas. Additional survivors include brothers Joe Cantu, Johnny Cantu and Paul Cantu of Lubbock, Texas, sisters Socorro Cantu of Athens, Texas and Safrina Cook of Mesquite, Texas, and niece Angie Klingerman of Austin, Texas. Ascension was preceded in death by his parents.

A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends. The family of Ascension Cantu, Jr., would like to express our sincere thanks to all for their thoughts, prayers and support during our time of bereavement.
