

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Barbara Carol Stark Kellam Cartwright announce her passing on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 in Leander, Texas at the age of 80. She was born on January 4, 1943 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Cody Harris Mears Stark and Nova Estelle Roberts.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years Eddie Dale Cartwright; father Cody Stark; mother Nova Roberts Kellam; step-father Solon Kellam; brother-in-law Warren Don Cartwright; and sister-in-law Gaylan Jean Cartwright Kilgore.
She is survived by her son Kerry Cartwright and wife Kelly of Pensacola, Florida; daughter Candace Cartwright and husband Paul Wesson of Leander, Texas; brother Anthony Kellam and wife Linda of Pflugerville, Texas; four grandsons: Jeremy Shoemake and fiancé Kelsey, Joseph Cartwright, George Wesson, Christopher Norton and wife Bree; one granddaughter Tina Norton; one great grandson Christopher Andre Norton ; one great granddaughter Kaylee White ;sisters-in-law Gayle Henson, Rita Ingram, Lola Bartling and husband Jerry, Diane Bass and husband Jim, and Dean Cartwright and wife Debbie; a host of nephews, nieces cousins and friends.
Barbara was a graduate of McCallum High School in Austin, Texas, class of 1961. She worked for the Austin American Statesman and I.R.S. in the 1960’s before becoming a full time homemaker. She also helped her husband manage their business Cartwright’s Welding from 1980 until their retirement in 2012.
Barbara was a member of the Baptist Church throughout her life serving her congregations in various capacities through the years. She was also a founding member of the Georgetown Area Cowboy Church in Weir with her beloved Eddie who preceded her in death in 2014. Barbara was an avid cook who loved to read books and research genealogy. She had a deep love for Texas history being an eighth generation Texan herself. Above all else she loved being a loving wife to Eddie for fifty years as well as being a devoted mother to their children Kerry and Candace as well as a grandmother and great grandmother.
A visitation will be held at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel located at 393 North Interstate Highway 35 Georgetown TX on Tuesday January 2nd 2024 from 5 to 7 pm. A funeral service will be held at the same location Wednesday January 3rd 2024 at 11 am. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Wellmed Leander and SunCrest Hospice for all the loving care they gave Barbara during this difficult time .
May she rest peacefully knowing that she left behind countless people whose lives are forever touched by her kindness , grace ,and love .
