

She was born April 4, 1934 in Hare, Texas. She attended Thrall High School where she became a star athlete in basketball and track. She graduated with honors as salutatorian in her class of 1951. She found work as a clerk with a lumber yard, with Woolworth's, with an insurance company and finally with Nagel Corporation as the CEO of management.
Bennie was an excellent cook. Her Sunday meals were a weekly event not to be missed. She was a self-taught, accomplished seamstress, routinely making her own clothing for both her daughter and herself.
Bennie will be remembered as a righteous woman who volunteered to help others and supported organizations that benefited others in her community.
She was a member of The Experimental Aircraft Association, The Tin Lizzie Model T Ford Club and the Early Ford VS Club of American and she served her St. Johns Homebuilders Sunday class.
Bennie is survived by her children, Mary Susan Pate and J. Forrest Taylor, III along with his wife Barbara. Grandchildren, Chris Pate and his wife Shannon, and Jason Taylor. And her great-grandchild, Rylan Pate.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Benjamin and Mary Schirpik; her first husband, J. Forrest Taylor, Jr.; her second husband, Floyd Chambers; sisters, Pauline Render and Evelyn Botts and her brother, Larry Schirpik.
The family is grateful for the wonderful memories shared with friends and all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628, US, on September 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
