Billie Lou Matthews

She is survived by her daughter, Lou Ann (Sister), sons, Robert, Jr. (Bud) and wife Luanna, William and wife Paula, and Jeff; eleven grandchildren, Candice, Jeffrey, Matthew, Courtney, Tracie, Robert III, Ben, John, Ryan, Christopher and Joshua; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Virginia Hurlburt and Grace Purdy. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Matthews, son, Ben Robert Wagner and parents, William Robert Pipkin and Lovie Leorah Baker- Pipkin and brother, Robert Zane Pipkin.

Billie Matthews was an accomplished author of children’s books which she wrote with her sister Virginia, a talented writer of poetry, a long standing member of the Daughters of the Republic, active in Fine Arts groups in Beaumont, Texas in her earlier years and has always served God in her tireless efforts to help so many others in their time of need.

She was a wonderful mother who was loyal to her family and will be missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters and numerous relatives and friends.
