Billy H. Miller, age 81, passed away on December 1, 2018. Billy Miller was born on November 6, 1937 in Georgetown, Texas. Bill was a wonderful father, husband, brother, grandfather, and friend to those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Bill was a graduate of Georgetown High School, class of 1956. Bill and his wife, Mary Ann, enjoyed attending many high school reunions and visiting with old friends and classmates. Bill married Mary Ann Hutsell of Katy, Texas on June 20, 1959. Bill and Mary Ann were married for 59 years. During this union they had three children, Sheila, Kevin, and Steve.

Bill had a passion for many things and tackled each project with a high level of professionalism. Bill served his country for 40 years in the Air Force, Army, and Texas Army National Guard. He received numerous awards for his exemplary service, including the Army Air Medal, the Commendation Medal, and the Viet Nam Service Medal. Bill was very humble and rarely spoke about his honors and awards. He was very proud to serve his country and often said he would do it again in a heartbeat. Bill, wife Mary Ann, and their first two children, Sheila and Kevin, lived in Ansbach, Germany from 1964-1966 where Bill was stationed with the US Army. In 1966, Bill was sent to Viet Nam and Mary Ann returned to the states with their two children. After Bill returned from Viet Nam, they were stationed in Mineral Wells, Texas where they had their third child, Steve. Bill served admirably during his career as an airplane pilot, commercial pilot, and helicopter pilot, as well as a Certified Flight Instructor for the National Guard. He retired in 1997 with the highest rank of Chief Warrant Officer 5.

Bill had a passion for wood work, learning the basics from his father, Fritz Miller. Bill went on to create hand-crafted furniture including tables, cabinets, entertainment centers, book shelves, and other custom-made furniture. He also made library shelves for Williams and Cooper Elementary Schools in Georgetown. He made furniture for his family and many friends. His wood work was always expertly and professionally made.

Bill loved his church, Faith Lutheran, in Georgetown. He and his wife, Mary Ann Miller were charter members of Faith. Bill loved serving as a trustee, assisting with construction projects and working with the men on yard and landscaping projects. He was always fun to be around and had a smile and good humor that attracted people to him.
