Buddy L. Ferguson
October 4, 1935 – June 7, 2018
Buddy Lee Ferguson, 82, of Mahomet, Texas, passed away June 7, 2018. He was born to the late Floyd and Jessie Ferguson on October 4, 1935 in Williamson County, not too far from where he lived for many years. His loving wife Dodie preceded him in death in 2016. They had been married for 32 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ on Grande Street in Bertram and also attended services at the Mahomet Christian Church.
Buddy is best known as an accomplished guitarist. His musical talent began when he was five, playing a ukulele and moved on to the mandolin, violin and guitar. His passion for making music continued his whole life. He was inducted into numerous Halls of Fame across the country, and he made music all over the United States, Canada, and Kuwait. He recorded two CDs: "Instrumentally Yours" and "Instrumentally Yours #2."
Buddy is survived by the families of his two sisters, Floydell Pierce of Oakalla and Judy Carlile of Bertram, and two step-sons, son, and step-daughter and their families from Houston.
Buddy will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. He loved his family, his friends, and his music.
Services for Buddy will be held at the Mahomet Christian Church tabernacle on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend John Davenport officiating.
