Carol Jeane Kent Petty

Carol Jeane Kent Petty, 71, died peacefully at home on January 28, 2016, in Georgetown, Texas. Carol Petty was born on December 30, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from Texas State University and the South Texas School of Law. She practiced law in Houston for many years before moving to Austin in 1992. She worked as an attorney for the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles until her retirement in 2011.

Carol was married to James Petty for twenty-five years until her death. She is also survived by her brother Bill Kent, her son Jason Berry, along with three grandchildren, Mark Berry, Brandon Berry, and Cassidy Berry, and three great grandchildren.

After her retirement, she and Jim were able to enjoy traveling, with trips to Europe and several other locations throughout North America.

Viewing and reception will be held at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas on Monday, February 1, 2016 between five and seven o’clock early evening. Memorial services will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at the same location.

Carol Petty will be buried at the Washington Cemetery, 2911 Washington Ave, Houston, Texas, following a brief graveside service at four-thirty.
