Angels above on December 12, 2018 at the age of 77. Mr. Hernandez was born on March 03, 1941 to Ambrosio and Petra T. Hernandez who preceded him in death.
As a young man he proudly served in our U.S. Army National guard from 1959 through 1965. Don lived a life that demonstrated the definition of good, hard work while bringing art and skill to everything he did. Don carried a well deserved reputation of diverse talents. Drawing, painting, gardening, antique restoration, remodeling and improvement of any home. He was always willing to share his knowledge with those who wanted or needed it.
Mr. Hernandez had a deep sense of pride, love and dedication for his family and friends. Don truly was an amazing husband and family man. Some of his greatest joys in life were telling jokes, dancing, and making everyone around him feel alive. So many drew encouragement, and inspiration from Mr. Hernandez. He will truly be missed.
Don Hernandez was survived by his 5 siblings: Ben Hernandez of Lamesa, Texas, Louisa H. Villareal
of Lamesa, Texas, Manuel Hernandez of Hutto, Texas, Modesto Hernandez of Lubbock, Texas and Janie H. Arocha of Georgetown, Texas. His loving wife, Olga Hernandez, 16 children, 32 grandchildren, 40
great-grandchildren, and many friends.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown with a reciting of the rosary at 6:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown with Father Joseph Daheim officiating. He will be laid to rest on December 28, 2018 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas.
