Cherry Darlene Sandberg, age 75, of Georgetown, Texas passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the age of 75 after a long battle with cancer. Cherry was born October 8, 1948, to Tommy and Violet Sandberg and spent her childhood years on a farm south of Georgetown. She struggled with life-long health issues, but despite this, she maintained a sense of humor and for a brief period in 1984 submitted humorous articles to the Austin American Statesman.
She was a kind person and had a soft heart for animals, especially pet dogs and cats.
She is survived by her brother Nick (Sheila) Sandberg of Utah, two nephews, Reagan (Heather) and Ryan (Gabby) Sandberg, four grand nephews and one grand niece as well as by her best friend John Upton.
A graveside service for Cherry will be held Monday, August 5, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at St. John's Cemetery, 2071 Westinghouse Rd, Georgetown, TX 78626.
